You're right, Marguerite, and so am I.
When I document things that don't exist there is, usually, a product
spec of some sort, somewhere.
I don't document things that are "just a gleam in a developer's eye"
or just a marketing proposal on how wonderful it will be. I stay
aware but I'm focused on things that are to be released any day now.

Thanks,
Jim Shaeffer (jims -at- spsi -dot- com)

Of necessity, most technical writers do not focus on things that
do not yet exist. There is not much need for us to document them.

Good heavens! I've spent my entire tech writing career documenting "things
that do not yet exist"! You mean there's something else???
