your reactions were right on target. this friend personally asked you for
contacts. i think that's a personal communication rather than a mass email
one. if it were me, i would have expected, at the very least, a thank you
email or phone call from him and THEN i'd expect him to ask me if it was
allright to pass the information along to others.
