Subject:Source of info for video documentation? From:dakers -at- bigfoot -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 10 Jul 2001 11:58:12
Greetings and thanks for allowing me to lurk and learn for several months.
Members of this list are a highly knowledgable group (highly helpful too,
I've noted), and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
What is the market for video documentation and/or training in the
technical
writing field? Do many companies have in-house video documentation
capability, or is that something which is farmed out? And if so, does that
work usually go to video production companies or to contractors? I'd like
to
get a feel for the market potential for technical documentation using
video.
What are the main categories for video inclusion--online training? HR
materials? user documentation? Conversion of video to CD, still images or
the like? What are the expectations for professional video services like
these and where are the clients? Thanks. I'll go back to lurk mode now.
