"Really, I'd like to see more real-world articles in the STC journal
because many of the articles are too topical or too theoretical." Said Sean
Brierley.
The STC journal is *supposed* to be theoretical. How else do you think
research gets peer-reviewed and published, except through academic
journals? In my view, its job is to provide us practitioners with the
latest research in the field. Our job is to find ways to apply useful bits
of that research to our own real-world situations. _Intercom_ publishes
real-world articles.

LOL!
In all seriousness, do you think the STC would get more and better quality
papers and submissions from industry (versus academia) if they were to pay
a
stipend for articles? Really, I'd like to see more real-world articles in
the STC journal because many of the articles are too topical or too
theoretical. What is the best way to share the knowledge?
