That sounds about right to me. Eliminate the resumes that are poorly
written or laid out and the ones that don't seem relevant right away,
and you can elminate at least three-quarters of them right away. Of
course, these filters may mean that an occasional good candidate is
missed, but they are generally reliable and eliminate a lot of work.
Magazine editors have used the same filters for over a century for
unsolicited manuscripts.
