Jane Carnall asks: "Does anyone know of a good verb for the process
of taking a set of files and creating a new JAR file that consists
of nothing but those files?"
I looked at Sun's Java Glossary, and found:
JAR Files (.jar)
Java ARchive. A file format used for aggregating many files into one.
JAR file format
JAR (Java Archive) is a platform-independent file format that
aggregates many files into one. Multiple applets written in the
Java(TM) programming language, and their requisite components
(.class files, images, sounds and other resource files) can be
bundled in a JAR file and subsequently downloaded to a browser
in a single HTTP transaction. It also supports file compression
and digital signatures.
