None of us, I don't think, are CEOs, so that comparison is bogus. When 22K
is more than 65% of your salary, that 'about' does indeed become a lie. I
think it would be better to state that a previous salary was irrelevant to
the new position than to stretch the truth so far that it breaks with a
window-shattering TWACK!
