Why not? Those who write it do (mostly)! ;)

Style is subjective. Else it wouldn't be "style"... ;)

If there is no reasoning as to why, challenge it. Just make sure you
consider the impact of your challenge should it be accepted. Changing the
way the documents are written may take a while. Of course who's to say you
can't do it on a go-forward basis... well, besides your bosses. ;)
