I do have some "before and after" copies of documents to which I have made major changes. Is it acceptable to send those instead? For those of you have have made hiring decisions before, what would you think if you received documents like that?
Since you're an editor, "before" and "after" samples sound very appropriate. However, you might want to go a step further, and annotate the samples to explain (in your absence) why you made the changes you did. If you put your samples in Acrobat, the notes feature is ideal for such annotations.
