Oh, yeah, gotta get my pirates straight. Hehehe. Smee. Hook. Got it. You
know, I heard somebody pronounce route as root the other day, and the same
route as rout. Do you say tomato or tomato? If the company refuses to adhere
to my pronunciation of tomato, should I quit because, you know, I don't get
no respect.
Here's the deal: 1) Be consistent. Often, words have alternate
pronunciations and spellings. Live with it. Also, you are not always going
to agree with your SME, employer, or co-workers. Suck it up. Be dynamic
enough to discuss such differences rationally and to live comfortably with
decisions that are not what you wanted. Of course, you could take your toys
and go home, but if you are like me that would be irresponsibly letting down
yourself and your family.
