Exactly. The original poster said that you would have to suffer to have a
high adjusted for cost of living salary and posted a list of places where
that was possible. The (I thought rather obvious) inference is that living
in those places = suffering. That was what I found offensive.

Was that tongue-in-cheek or did you actually take offense? I saw nothing
wrong with the post. Pretty accurate if you ask me. And last time I checked,
Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Denver, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle,
and San Francisco weren't on the East Coast. ;)
