I always collect unemployment between jobs. I used to be a part-time
non-tenured) college professor, and I even passed a law to be sure that I
could collect unemployment during Summer Quarter.
Unemployment is a right that we as employees have to protect us. The
employer is paying for the benefits (unemployment insurance). Would you
refuse to collect medical insurance if you were injured due to something you
did? (Gee, I should have been more careful...guess I will pay my own bill
this time.)
