"All but thesis"  

It's a variation on a.b.d. ("all but dissertation").

Usually, it means the person has finished all of the classroom work, but
hasn't done the research paper necessary to actually receive the degree.

I have received a resume from someone who lists under "Education" a
Master's Degree, expected at a later date. For example, "May 2002 a.b.t"

What does "a.b.t" mean?
