<< However, for myself, and for what I feel is a better product, I've used
and still use WordPerfect (I'm on ver 10 now). How many others are like
myself -- use WordPerfect for personal writing because we feel it is more
intuitive and has finer document control, and isn't as kudgy as Word.>>
I had to fight hard to get past the one-product-for-all mindset, but I
finally prevailed. I can read Word docs and save to Word format using
WordPerfect. I much prefer WP for nearly all tasks, even though I feel the
product has suffered at the hands of Corel.
I won my battle by asking whether the company would require the software
developers to use Notepad to write code, because that's a tool that ALL
employees had. I was able to argue that it isn't smart to restrict some
employees to inferior applications (my opinion, no flames please) when it
had a negative effect on work output.
