I'm a little slow in responding.

Steven Brown's advice was excellent, as were others. I'd only add that it's a good idea to give the new person a list of people to call when they need help, including pagers, home phone numbers, or cell phones. Problems never seem to arise when helpful folks are there. It only happens when you're trying to meet a deadline at 2 a.m., and you have no idea who to call or how to reach them.
