Is this the book by Barker in the Allyn & Bacon/Longman series? It was the
text for a grad class I took last semester. I liked it, especially compared
to some of the samples of similar books that the instructor showed us, but
there are a few places where Barker fails to practice what he preaches (such
as the layout of the index).
BTW, I'm reading Rude's Technical Editing text from that same series for
another class now and would recommend it if you need something on that
subject.

Subject: "Writing Software Documentation: A Task-Oriented Approach"
Thank you for your replies for my two requests for help. The replies for the
task versus procedure email I sent gave us a baseline for disussion. I also
started "Writing Software Documentation: A Task-Oriented Approach". Can
anyone provide comments on this book?
