In my experience bringing Word files to Frame, it seemed easier in Frame to
convert the tables to paragraphs. Then convert the paragraphs back to a
Frame table applying the appropriate Frame Table Format. You then only have
to resize the columns. The advantage, as I see it, of doing it this way, is
that you can easily see the table and don't have to keep looking at a hard
copy to determine the start and end of where the table was in Word. Like
most everything else we do, there are several ways. Each user needs to find
the way that is easiest for them.

My experience with Frame is limited, but in what I have converted to Frame
from Word, I was instructed to convert all tables to text first, then suck
the Word files into Frame. All the other formatting went over flawlessly,
but the table macros in the two programs are incompatible. It is easier to
make new tables in Frame from comma-delimited text than it is from the mess
you get from a Word table.
