Wow, I *wish* that was the case here in the Portland, OR area.

I'm a recovering tech writer who is now mostly marcomm. I made this
leap because I dabbled in marcomm and then found, much to
my surprise, that I enjoyed it.

I was laid in May and have yet to find another full time
marcomm gig. I'm doing contract work to make ends meet.
I've sent out over 50 resumes and have had 3 interviews.
What a difference a couple of years can make ...

Anyway, even though I've interested in permanent work, I've been
keeping my eyes open for contracts as well. From where I sit,
the tech writing market seems to be less tight than the marcomm
market.
