Subject:Re: Building two tables side by side in Frame From:"Domaschuk, Rob" <Robd -at- datalogics -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Fri, 28 Sep 2001 09:31:29 -0500
It's actually fairly simple, and there are two ways: 1) if you want the
tables anchored to the text (so that it moves with the text) or 2) have the
tables remain exactly where you place them on the page.
Table Moving With Text
1. Place the cursor on the line above where you want to place the tables
2. Go to Special > Anchored Frame
3. Accept the defaults (you can re-size later)
4. Drag to re-size the frame as needed.
5. Go to Graphics > Tools to display the toolbar.
6. Draw a text frame (completely) inside the anchored frame
7. The dialogue box will ask you for the number of columns - type "2" and
click OK
8. Draw a table in each column.
Note that you will have to manually re-size the anchored frame as your
tables grow and shrink. but it is not a burdensome chore!
Tables Remaining Exactly Where You Left Them (or "Un-Anchored Frames)
1. Place the cursor on the line above where you want to place the tables
2. Go to Graphics > Tools to display the toolbar.
3. Draw a Graphic frame.
4. Re-size and position the frame as needed.
5. Draw a text frame (completely) inside the anchored frame
7. The dialogue box will ask you for the number of columns - type "2" and
click OK
8. Draw a table in each column.
This is very basic, there are more complex methods where you can play with
layouts on the Master Page, or special formats on the Reference Page, but
these two are the easiest.
