TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Mark Moloney asks how to format the T-letter for plain text e-mail.
I would use asterisks (*) for bullets and indents. You might also have to
modify your wording about the table/list somewhat. Here's an example:
* 3+ years technical writing experience
2 years Junior Technical Writer at Acme Corp.
3 years Technical Communicator at Whizzbang Systems Inc.
* Experience with a Help Authoring Tool
Created and maintained help systems with RoboHelp and ForeHelp.
OK, that's a fairly generic and probably not great example of what to list,
but it should give you an idea as to how you can communicate the points of a
t-letter in plain text e-mail.
