<<Can someone recommend resources for me about how to get clear screenshots
on
screen and in print in FrameMaker?>>
We've had the same problems at my office. The solution seems to be to use
.TIFF or .BMP format for screen shots (save them in the specific format in
SnagIt) and .EPS format for vector graphics (e.g., Illustrator). Size isn't
an issue because FM imports graphics by reference (although you can embed
graphics in your docs, I've been told it's not recommended). Additionally,
when you import graphics by reference, the graphic automatically updates in
the document when you change it. You can also use .GIF formats, but you
should be prepared to lose some of the detail. Don't use .JPG graphics
because they will be blurry.
We import our graphics at 300 dpi and make sure they are exactly the size we
want them to be before we import them. For example, I import all Visio
graphics at 300 dpi and 5.5 inches wide (column width).
Since we got this down, we've had very few problems.
