been laid off [implied "yet"]" option, and an "8 or
more times" option, what could "other" possibly mean
ot score 2 votes...???
That's my answer: I freelance. I don't get "laid off", my contract ends.
I've never had a contract end prematurely, but I have had several extended (and extended, and extended), and occasionally turned into a permanent position.
I was laid off once as an engineer, though. It was 19 years ago; I survived the first 15% cut but not the subsequent 20% cut. And yes, I saw it coming.
