David,
In Acrobat 4, a quick way to do this is to use a text box and then duplicate
it on every page. Using the form tool, create a read-only text box using the
default text and font size/color as desired. Use a light color with no
background color set for the text box. Right click on the box and select
duplicate. It will duplicate that text box on all or a range of pages.

We know , of course, how to add a stamp to an individual page of an existing
PDF document.
How can I add a watermark, or stamp to all pages of an existing PDF document
WITHOUT returning to my Word or FM source.
A free PDF stamp to the first solution :)
