TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Back in the dark ages when I was a teacher, I had a similar interview.
Three of us sitting around a table answering the same questions for half an
hour; 12 interviewed over 2 hours. At the end of the interview, you needed
to leave and be somewhere near a phone (this was before cell phones) until
they called back the few they wanted for a second round.
I was totally unprepared for this (we were not told beforehand it would be
like this)and was glad that I was not called back for a second round. (Who
wants to work for an employer who values you so little?)
