RE: Frame conditional text: possible to AND instead of OR?
Subject:RE: Frame conditional text: possible to AND instead of OR? From:Marguerite Krupp <mkrupp -at- cisco -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 6 Nov 2001 08:44:01 -0500
David Castro is looking for a way to "AND" conditional text settings in
Frame. This was discussed in some detail a few weeks ago on the Frame User's
list: www.frameusers.com.
Bottom line, there's no real shortcut. The best way is to define a condition
type that encompasses all the conditions; for example, you can define
separately "COND_1" and "COND_2", but if you want an instance that "ANDs"
these two (that is, one that's true only when both of these conditions are
true), you have to define a third conditional: "COND_1_AND_COND_2" and apply
that to the text you want displayed only when both are true.
This brings up the question of whether you can have two conditions
simultaneously applied to the same piece of text; for example, "COND_1" and
"COND_1_AND_COND_2". I don't specifically recall, but I think that the
latest condition specified overrides any previously specified condition.
Hope this is clear. I think you should check the Frame User archives anyway,
but that's what I took away from the discussion.
HTH,
Marguerite
