Subject:Newsflash: Engineer asks for help From:walter -dot- crockett -at- ascentialsoftware -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 14 Nov 2001 11:20:02 -0500
I thought that headline might catch your attention. But it's true. One of my
engineers has asked me to inquire if any techwriters have seen this problem
before.
When invoking context-sensitive HTML help, the help window opens behind the
dialog box or application that invoked it, rather than on top, where it
should be.
This only happens with one dialog box in the application, and it only
started happening after we ported our product to Unicode (so we're seeing
this effect on a Chinese operating system). All the other context sensitive
files seem to open fine. In each case we open to a single topic that
contains a link to open the entire .chm.
