Subject:Linking Differently Authored Help Files From:"Denise L. Moss-Fritch" <denise -dot- fritch -at- os -dot- varian -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Tue, 27 Nov 2001 12:16:05 -0800
Perhaps someone on the list has encountered the following problem we now
face. If so, I would certainly appreciate that experience.
We have three different offices (two in Europe and one in the USA) all
developing online help (.chm files) for a single application. The
application includes modules from the three different locations, with each
of the modules being a part of the "whole".
The problem is that two locations have already begun authoring their online
help, one in RoboHelp and the other in ForeHelp. Or, perhaps I should state
that they both author in FrameMaker 6, than convert their files to either
RoboHelp or ForeHelp.
Given the FrameMaker 6 to different HAAT, what problems (if any) will be
encountered in linking the different .chm files? And, if the third office
decides to use WebWorks to convert their FrameMaker 6 authored online help,
what additional problems might be encountered?
Any and all suggestions or help would certainly be appreciated. At least we
do have a few months before product release.
