TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Suman Saha is <<... interested in subscribing to a Technical Writing list
that is based in Canada - to be more specific - in Toronto/Greater Toronto
area.>>
I don't know of a list specific to Toronto, but STC is running a "Canadian
Issues" special interest group that currently runs a mailing list: http://www.stc.org/SIGS/canadian.html You have to be a member to join, and
if you are, you should go to www.stc.org to find contact information for
your local chapter.
If you want to go along with an old joke and consider Toronto to be part of
the West Island of Montreal, you could also look into the "Montreal Tech.
Writers" discussion group:
Post message: mtl_techwriter -at- yahoogroups -dot- com
Subscribe: mtl_techwriter-subscribe -at- yahoogroups -dot- com
Unsubscribe: mtl_techwriter-unsubscribe -at- yahoogroups -dot- com
But for most purposes related to the profession, techwr-l should be able to
meet your needs quite well. There are many Canadians, and a batch of Toronto
folk, and that should fill your information needs.
