Maybe it's just me, but I took Tracy's response as being very much
tongue in cheek and not as sniping at all.  I see it as a bit like jokes
- some you'll happily tell to everybody, others only to those who you
know well enough to understand that they'll find it funny/not take it
the wrong way. Now the number of people on this list I know personally I
can count on the fingers of one hand (maybe two!) but I do get a feeling
that I 'know' the regular contributors. I'm sure there are people like
me who, regardless of the topic, read mails from certain members as they
are invariably educational/humourous etc. I saw the original reply as a
humourous poke at somebody who would appreciate it - perhaps,
considering the variations on how people react, it would have been
better off-line.
