Who needs to test the GUI before mgmt approval...not us!
Subject:Who needs to test the GUI before mgmt approval...not us! From:John Posada <jposada01 -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 13 Dec 2001 07:15:56 -0800 (PST)
I was in a meeting yesterday and one of the project managers made the
serious suggestion that we didn't need to see an application's GUI
ahead of time or to test the application GUI before the stakeholder
approval meeting because we've done similar types of GUIs for other
applications and since she's approved the design specs on this one,
it should work fine with only minor tweaking.
For those who don't know what stakeholder approval is, picture upper
managers from each department (accounting, legal, policy, HR)
impacted by the application sitting around the table as the
application is demonstrated, with the goal that they agree to change
their policies and procedures and use the application instead.
She was calling into our meeting on a conerence call and I needed to
ask if I heard her correctly.
Needless to say, the suggestion wasn't taken with much merit.
