I did this with my site. Put a registration form JS and when they
fill out the form, it leads them to a protected directorty where
you've put only the sensitive files in a password protected
directory.
With my ISP, when I try to entrer that directory, the system prompts
ne for ID and password.
If they don't register, they never get the URL of that subdirectory.
