Chris,
As someone who has been in the process of creating a Web site for my
biz,( and maintains a site for my non profit) I echo everyone's
advice about learning about Web design before jumping into tools. I
took a week long course last year in Dreamweaver and Fireworks. The
company who put the course on has just self-published a book that is
very good and puts some things together that some of the other books
don't do. I recommend it.
There's a lot to Web design. It's a little like being asked to build
a house. I've grown respectful of the "design" part of "Web
design". If this is a way you want to grow your skills and your
boss is willing to give you the time, go for it.
Good luck.
Annamarie
