Re: offline courtesy among list members
Sorry to be a whiner, but I'm a little disappointed in the behavior ofFunny that you should start this thread. I don't expect people to send an e-mail just to say thanks, but I was thinking of complaining abut something else.
some members of this list.
Over the last couple of months, I've received resumes from people on the list. The reason, I suppose, is that I've mentioned on the list that, in the past, I've hired a sub-contractor or two. However, I don't do so regularly, and don't expect to do so in the next few few months. Nor have I ever solicited any resumes. So, as far I'm concerned, these resumes - send BCC - are simply a form of spam. There's nothing in the list rules about using contacts on the list in this way, but unwanted solicitations are still a form of spam.
I considered asking Eric to make an administrative post about this problem. However, I don't want to name names. Instead, I'd rather simply ask everyone to agree not to misuse the list this way.
