I would have checked the archives, but they were down, and a google search
turned up nuthin.
We have a set of several large manuals with a whole lot of screen shots,
all referenced, written in Frame 6.0. All of the images are bitmaps, a
decision made by higher-ups a long time ago. Our clients are now starting
to squawk about PDF file sizes, and we've been told to convert all the
images to either gifs or pngs. I'm not sure which of those to choose, but
that will be determined by overall file size and quality, and I can figure
that out later. Converting the images should not be a problem, either.
What I can't figure out is how to convert all of the image references in
our Frame docs and have them point to <filename>.png instead of
<filename>.bmp. Does anyone know of a quick solution to this? I tried
opening up the docs in notepad and replacing the text, but that corrupted
the files.
Thanks in advance,
Jason
