Dick,
EST and GMT are both clear to me. Never heard of UTC. We use the 24h
notation with a : between the horus and the minutes, e.g., 12:30 PM.
If you want to be really nice, add a name of a big city in the time zone you
are reffereing to. Usually people know what's the time difference between
New York (for example) time and their local time. The best thing would be to
write the local time in the time zones of your target audience, presuming
you know where the audience is located.
