<Has anyone found listing professional associations helpful? If so, which
ones? Also, are the associations they've found helpful for writers, or
for computer developers and other experts?>

Listing them without any further information is quite useless. I also agree
with Andrew that nobody except TWs ever heard about STC. BUT if you are
interviewed by a manager of a TW dpet. he/she probably knows about STC and
in this case it could be helpful, depending on the ADDITIONAL info you have.
If you are just a "silent" member, don't bother to list it. If you are a
frequent presenter or wrote articles in STC journals, it can add a few
points to the overall impression of the interviewer.
