I think that's the point. Without making any value judgements for or against
STC membership, in the current job market, employers can afford to be as
picky as they like about their prereqs - because they know how many good
technical writers there are out there getting more desperate by the day.
Continuing this thread in a more useful direction - and not because it's a
prereq for employment - does anyone have any opinions about the value of STC
membership for a European technical writer?
