I apologize for any ambiguity in my request for help. We are not
attempting to defeat copyrighted material.
Our project, a contract under the US Gov. uses COTS (Commercial Off the
Shelf) Equipment. All manuals for these COTS pieces must be delivered in
Electronic Format. In this case we chose PDF (it seems to be the easiest,
and most universal). Most of the COTS equipment manuals have been
obtained off of vendor websites and by contacting the vendor, all others
will be scanned. However...the DOS operating system has presented a small
dillemma. The DOS Help menus are not sufficient for novice users. To
supplement the help menus in DOS, the plan was to deliver the "DOS for
Dummies" book. To save money, we didn't want to have to stand and scan
the book in, but to obtain it directly in PDF you can buy the E-book, but
the E-book is then locked into one specific computer. I don't
particularly care to use MS Reader either. I would just like to have
some sort of DOS help guide in PDF format, it doesn't have to be
copyrighted material, it just has to be sufficient enough for novice users
of DOS to do some basic troubleshooting. Any suggestions?
