TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Around my office, people distribute mostly MS Word documents which I usually
have to put up on our web site. The problem is that for nearly every
document I find myself cutting the text from MSWord and pasting it into
textpad or vi and adding HTML tags myself.
So has anyone had any luck with tools or social processes to convert
documents to HTML (or even plain text)? And please, no one tell me to use
word's export to HTML feature. You gotta be nuts to have 2k of text explode
into 30k of HTML bloat.
