Subject:FW: Software versions: higher, later or above? From:Richard Weir <richard -dot- weir -at- ce -dot- com -dot- au> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 16 Jan 2002 10:00:05 +1100
You should be very careful when using a phase like this. Just because your
program works in MS Bloat 4.0 and 4.1 does not mean it will work in 4.3. I
only use this phase if I personally have tested all the higher/later
versions. But this is hard to do if the docs are written before 4.4 is
released.
There is nothing stopping a software company from removing parts of the
program, and that could happen to be what you were referencing to. Making
you and the company you are writing for look a little silly.

(I can not access the archives right now, so please excuse me if this has
been answered before.)
When referring to software versions and releases, would you say:
* MS Bloat 2.1 and higher
* MS Bloat 2.1 and later
* MS Bloat 2.1 and above
I suspect it's a case of picking one and using it consistently, but can
anyone cite a reason for choosing one of those options over the others?
Please copy me directly with answers, as I'm on digest. Thanks.
Joyce
