Subject:D & D and tech writing From:"Thomas Eagles" <eaglescribe -at- hotmail -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 17 Jan 2002 04:20:28 -0500
D & D wasn't my cuppa, but there were two related games that I played in
high school: Traveller and Space Opera. Both allowed your imagination to
run wild while requiring you to plan, document, and guide others in the
use of the Worlds you created, the rules, and the Game Master (often me)
would develop the action on-the-fly. Yes, an excellent point: D & D-type
games DO prepare you for a career as a tech writer. Or a public speaker.
That was a lot more fun to document than the stuff I'm writing about
today. Oh well... we can't be children forever.
Boy do I feel old...
