I just became one of the members of the team that is designing the User
Interface for our new software. I usually don't get invited to join these
meetings until the interface has already been designed and all the
developers want me to do is write the manual to make their unusable
interface seem simple. :-)
I have some books that I have read and as I said, I have given suggestions
after the fact on ways to improve the interface, but I have never been
involved from the beginning. This is my chance to really be an advocate for
the user and I want to do a good job. Anyway, I thought that I would ask
the experts on this list if any list members have:
* UI design expertise that you would be willing to share
* books or reference information that you recommend (I do have two
books, The Essentials of User Interface Design by Cooper and User and Task
Analysis for Interface Design by Hackos)
* Any prayers that might be of help before the first meeting tomorrow
TIA for your help,
Bonita
