Subject:Displaying the filename in Word? From:"Mark Emson" <mt -dot- emson -at- ntlworld -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Fri, 25 Jan 2002 21:00:38 -0000
Hi all,
I've got two word docs that were created by one our clients.
As part of the doc they have used INSERT, FIELD, DOCUMENT INFORMATION to
display the file name in the footers etc. This gives a field that reveals as
{FILENAME \*MERGEFORMAT}although, it seems that the mergeformat part is not
required.
My problem is that one file name shows the '.doc' extension whilst the other
does not.
Neither file shows the extension as part of its name when it is saved.
I need both to be the same and would prefer to have the name only.
Does anyone know how to turn on/off the display of the extension.
Thanks in advance,
Mark Emson
