The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
In WordPerfect, make sure "Reformat for default printer" is NOT checked. See http://kb.corel.com/kbdocs/cws7032/WP70WIN/WP70WIN_5179.htm. (The instructions may be slightly different, depending on your version of WP.) However, when you print the document, if you send it to a different printer than
the one which is associated with the document, I believe it will reformat for the requested printer at that time.
This is not really a technical writing question but I'm sure stumped and
hope at least one of you have the technical expertise to answer.
Here's the info:
We're running on Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server Addition with Citrix.
We use both WordPerfect and Word with WordPerfect as the software for
our manuals.
Here's the problem:
Each time we change to a different printer (and we have a couple of
different ones in the building), our documents auto reformat, which causes
strange contortions and extra pages to be inserted.
