I'm afraid you're a bit out of touch with reality.
There is nothing more I would like than to have a
full-time job with stability. Unfortunately, in case
you haven't noticed, we are in the midst of a
recession. To keep a roof over my head in a tiny
apartment in California, and to barely eat twice-a-day
if I'm lucky, I do contracting work. I do this
because that's the work that is available. It is not
a choice.
Furthermore, over 3 years ago, I was forced to leave
the Midwest because full-time tech jobs were almost
non-existent. I now live 2000 miles away from my
family, and am more or less alone in one of the
largest cities in America. I did not choose this
either.
You need to rethink your irrational and hostile
attitude.
___________
Two points: First, place my statement in the context
within which it was
written. I'm looking at a market, as are all of you,
where, recently some
people chose to contract and make considerably more
money than the
captives. They made more money because that money was
a slush fund to tide
them over when times are tough. Captives chose greater
security--they
hoped--over greater earnings.
