TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.

The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
John,
It probably doesn't come as a surprise to you that I can't apply for this
job. I have no experience with single-sourcing, XML, and ISO. I do have HTML
and SGML experience, and I can meet the job description.
I found it unreasonable that a technical writer with 2 years and some
experience would be able to meet these requirements:
"Works with product teams and manages individual projects from beginning to
completion. Interviews and interfaces with engineers in a design and
production environment.
Maintains and revises a large library of legacy manuals using advanced
FrameMaker techniques.
Requires high standards of writing and quality and the ability to meet tight
deadlines under pressure."
And have these skills
"Participates in special team projects and ongoing documentation
improvements
Experience with single-sourcing and usability preferred
Experience with HTML, XML, or SGML preferred
Experience with ISO processes preferred"

Ellen...I don't consider the requirements unusual or unreasonable.
What did you find unreasonable?
