There are a lot of ways to approach this, and the most important thing is to be
consistent within your documents. But I would go with a simple, concise wording:
>From the File menu, select Save.
That's my standard wording. For users who are relatively advanced, I might
shorten it further: Select File, Save. [File and Save in bold]
"To save the details" will probably be clear in context. (There's something
redundant about saying, in essence, "to save, select Save.")
