That's my case here. The company isn't huge, but it is pretty big and geographically rather spread out. I have no idea if there are others who are paid to be writers in the company at large. I do know I'm the only one in Information Services/Technology.
This is a captive gig, but my last contract was much the same. It was a big bank, and I'm sure had other writers scattered here and there, but none in my group--or as far as I knew, in my building!

Another thread got me thinking about my situation. I am essentially a lone writer even though I work for a large corporation. The company has other writers, even writing teams, but in my day-to-day work I never interact with any of them and have only actually met one of them, and, as I said in that other thread, that was through STC. You would have to climb the org chart all the way up to the president of the company to find any boss that I have in common with another writer.
I was wondering if are there many others in similar situations?
