I just bought a pair of HAGGAR dress pants and they claim "wrinkle free" as a
trademark.
There are lots of questionable trademarks and patents out there. Unfortunately
the system allows the corporations with the deepest pockets to pay to lay claim
to everything their heart desires and then those claims are enforced by law
until someone has enough money to challenge the deep pocketed company's lawyers
in court and win.

Individual words cannot be copyrighted, and I can't imagine how Microsoft would
get away with trademarking an ordinary verb that simply describes a quite
ordinary action. It makes the window smaller---it minimizes it. That's just
English. (The best place to check for what Microsoft considers their own, their
very own, is on their web site.)
You're worrying too much, Ben. Just write. :)
