Gang,
I am quite satisfied that the following is not a
joke and is a sincere request for information.
Given the purpose of TECHWR-L, this is an absolutely
legitimate request for information.
DO NOT respond to this on list; do not comment
on this on the list; do not make comments or
cracks about this.

Subject: Are There Any Transsexual TWs Out There?
Besides me, that is. I am just beginning my
transition--if you don't know what that means, this
question probably doesn't apply to you--and am not yet
"out" at work. I was wanting to know if there are any
other technical writers who have gone through this, or
are planning to do so, or even any who would like to
but don't think they ever will. Until a few months
ago I was in that last category.
What I am especially interested in is how
transitioning changed the team dynamics of where you
work, especially your relationship with the SMEs, but
I would also like to hear from anybody even if it is a
simple acknowledgement that I am not the only one in
this field going through this.
Since this would be of very little real,
non-voyeuristic, interest to most of the list, and I
don't want to "out" anybody, please respond to me
directly at <verwest -at- yahoo -dot- com> instead of here on the
list.
